How to track time on a case.
NOTE: Activate time tracking in Account Settings first. This can only be done by a firm administrator or someone with the Account Settings permission.
From the Time Tracking Tab of a case
- Navigate to the Time Tracking Tab of the client's case.
- Select Log Time.
- Add in the date, time worked, or start time & end time, worker, and optional description. Time worked is in 6-minute increments.
- Click Save.
- The new time is now included in the Total Time box at the top of the page.
- Follow these steps if you need to edit or delete the time logged on a case.
From the dark green drop-down menu next to case status.
- Navigate to the case of the client you want to track time on.
- Click the dark green drop-down to the right of the case status.
- Select Log Time.
- Add in the date, time worked, or start time & end time, worker, and optional description. Time worked is in 6-minute increments.
- Click Save.
- The new time is now included in the Total Time box at the top of the page.
From your keyword
- Select the 'L' letter on your keyboard as a shortcut to access the log time section.
From a Note
- Click the letter "n" on your keyboard to open up the Add Note pop-up window.
- Enter in your note.
- Locate the Log Time section on the note and input the time worked. Time worked is in 6-minute increments.
- Click Save.
From Completing Tasks with a Note
- Locate the task, either on the Task Management Screen or from within the Tasks Tab of the case.
- Click on the dropdown arrow in line with the task and select Complete with Note.
- The Complete Task with Note pop-up window will appear. Input your note and Log the time worked on that task. Time worked is in 6-minute increments.
- Click Save.
