Soluno Integration: Follow the steps below to stage the client trust for disbursement by the accountant. This is typically done by the lien negotiator.
Steps IF your trust was deposited into CASEpeer based on an accepted settlement offer
- Negotiate and accept all of the third-party payments that need to be made out of the client trust. For details, visit the lien negotiations section in our Help Center.
- Stage the settlement fee payment from the line item of the Accepted and Deposited settlement offer for each demand.
- If you need to change the fee amount, click on the arrow next to the demand and select Edit Fee Logic. If the firm has activated the Fee Change Request functionality, you may need to Request Fee Change. If that is the case, do not stage fees until the fee change has been approved.
- Repeat staging fees for all settlement deposits.
- If there is a medpay deposit, stage any reimbursements from the arrow next to the medpay request.
- If there was a medpay deposit, stage any medpay fees from the arrow next to the medpay fees line.
- Review the cost section to see if any changes need to be made for this case. Add or edit the soft costs in the COPP section, or Property Damage section as needed. Please note, running costs cannot be edited with the Soluno integration. Cost reimbursements can be offset with one of the above sections.
- Stage the costs and finalized third-party payments coming out of the trust. You may use the Push to Client Trust button, but only after you have staged all the fees and accepted all third-party final payment amounts.
- The Push to Client Trust button will prepare all remaining client checks, including the final check to the client for the remainder of the trust. You will see a preview of all the checks you are about to stage. Select Save to continue.
- The trust balance should be $0.00 before you transfer the case to your accountant for distribution.
Steps IF your trust balance was IMPORTED into CASEpeer
Please Note: for these cases, the negotiations section of the Settlement Tab will not necessarily accurately reflect Deposits because they were imported rather than processed through CASEpeer. For an accurate client trust balance, refer to the Balance displayed in the Client Trust.
- Negotiate and accept all of the third-party payments that need to be made out of the client trust. For details, visit the lien negotiations section in our Help Center.
- Stage all the fees using the Stage Fees button on the negotiations section of the Client Trust Tab. This button is used ONLY for instances where you have an imported trust balance.
- Stage all costs and third-party payments coming out of the trust individually. Do not use the “Push to Client Trust” button. If you do, it could stage an inaccurate final check due to the imported data.
- When all the fees, costs, and third-party payments have been staged to the client trust, go to the client trust section of the Settlement Tab, and take note of what is remaining in the trust. This should be the final check to the client.
- Click the Client Advance button, enter that amount, and select Save.
- The trust balance should be $0.00 before you transfer the case to your accountant for distribution.
