How to Automatically edit and save documents with CASEpeer File Sync. Download and install CASEpeer File Sync before editing documents.
- Navigate to the Documents Tab of a case.
- In CASEpeer's document storage, click on the dropdown arrow aligned with a document and select Open With File Sync.
- A pop-up window may appear.
- NOTE: Check the box labeled Don't show this message again to hide this pop-up in the future.
- Select Open Document.
- If you are not already logged into CASEpeer File Sync, you will need to log in. This window can be opened by clicking on the CASEpeer File Sync Icon in the Task Bar (Windows) or Menu Bar (Mac) near the clock and selecting Sign In.
- Enter the Username and Password for your CASEpeer account to log into CASEpeer File Sync.
- A pop-up window may appear.
- NOTE: Check the box labeled Always allow my.casepeer.com to open links of this type in the associated app to hide this message in the future.
- Select Open CASEpeer File Sync.
- The document will automatically open if you have the appropriate editing software installed. For example, Word documents will likely open in Microsoft Word by default.
- Please allow a few seconds for the document to open, especially if the default editing software is closed.
- Make changes to the document and click Save.
- Changes made will be saved as a new version of the document in CASEpeer.
- Previous versions can be viewed by clicking the dropdown arrow of a document and selecting Version History.
- NOTE: You may need to refresh the page to view the new version by default. You may also need to refresh to open and edit the new version by default.
NOTE: CASEpeer File Sync only supports Save for the same document. Using Save As will prevent CASEpeer File Sync from syncing the changes to the document stored in CASEpeer.
- Instead of Save As, please upload a copy of the document in CASEpeer and open the new document via CASEpeer File Sync to make changes.
- If you are using Office 365, you will not be able to use the Auto-Save, synchronous collaboration/editing features, or Word Online features as they are not compatible with CASEpeer File Sync.
